When someone passes away, their belongings (chattels), home and earnings are all subject to probate. Any owed debts, or inheritance tax are paid via the sale of these things. This can be a difficult process, not only emotionally, but logistically. Not being able to identify what objects are worth can end in loss of potential means to pay these expenses. If you would like to know how much the contents of a house are worth, Lavender Clearances can carry out a full probate valuation. Simply fill in the quick quote form here, call us on 0208 286 3565 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will contact you straight away.
Probate Valuation Process
Porcelain, furniture and art are all potentially valuable, but pieces can get missed or undervalued. We are happy to visit the property in question and catalogue and value the goods (chattels) of the premises, that is, everything except the fabric of the building. It can make a lot of difference making use of a professional house contents valuation service before putting things up for sale, it can lead to better prices and therefore perhaps the ability to keep other precious heirlooms that may have been sold without proper examination and valuation.
It is not always necessary to employ a solicitor to submit an application to the Probate Registry. One of the main complications of paperwork and inventory can be taken away by our swift and professional probate service.
We have expertise in providing probate valuations for any and all property contents (chattels) including art, furniture, collectibles, jewellery, ephemera and even motor vehicles. Our rates are competitive and our customer testimonials and client list are testament to our 15 years of trading and many more years of expertise across the team.
Once we have carried out the valuation, we will deliver you a probate valuation report within 2 days.

Probate Valuation Prices
There are 3 levels of probate valuation we provide, all dependent on the volume and value of items within the property.
All probate valuations require a visit to your property to list the items, a word document version is then emailed to you and a paper copy is signed and sent to you via post.
The probate valuation pricing levels are:
1. £ 200 plus VAT: Basic generic furniture and no real items of value. Really a valuation to enable the estate to complete the probate process with the necessary paperwork.
2. £250 plus VAT: Some items of value throughout the property (£2500 and above). This requires more specialised knowledge and possibly more research to confirm an accurate valuation.
3. £300 plus VAT: There are valuable items throughout the property and will likely require more off-site research from our team to provide an accurate valuation (£5000 and above).
